About veterans for clean water
No matter the branch, the core value of the United States Military is leadership. Leadership makes Savannah Riverkeeper’s Veterans For Clean Water program a success. The importance of pride and community, which remain instilled in our country’s Veterans, gives Veterans For Clean Water the never-ending ability to grow.
VFCW's roll in the middle-river region (the greater Augusta area) is broad. From promoting recreation on the river to community clean-ups to our critical water quality sampling program, there are many ways veterans and their families can continue to serve. We are proud to share the healing power of the Savannah River. A place to reconnect and find peace and purpose. We share the stories often of wives and children who find their soldier, airman, guardsman, marine, or sailor a different person after giving back through Veterans For Clean Water. |
The most popular question asked is, do you have to be a Veteran? Our answer is no! Family members, children, and friends of Veterans can also get involved in this powerful program.
Noticed, respected in our community
Our work gets respect in the communities we serve. Our media partners clearly recognize the hard work of our volunteers. Savannah Riverkeeper’s essential SwimGuide water quality testing program is possible because of the trained citizen scientist who give their time through Veterans For Clean Water. The mission and people of VFCW matter and make a difference in communities along the Savannah River every day.
